ATTEND OPEN DAY

Co-owned by David Beckham and launched on the London Stock Exchange in October 2020, Guild Esports is a new, global esports organisation. Celebrating and harnessing the loyalty of sports enthusiasts worldwide, Guild sits at the centre of competitive gaming, entertainment, and lifestyle - and we’re here to create a new level of excellence in gaming.

Guild will be working in partnership with SCL Enigmaz to assist you on your journey towards a career in esports and beyond. As industry experts, we will provide never-before-seen educational bootcamp experiences and a curriculum built around what is required to succeed both in esports and wider business.

Furthermore, with our professional coaches on hand, you will be able to develop your skills even further and compete in high-end competitions & LAN events throughout the year.

At Guild, we believe that you learn best by doing - we want to give you the tools and knowledge, but we also want to provide real-world opportunities for you to deliver projects that interest you. This could include creating and broadcasting a Rocket League Livestream on the Guild Twitch account, collaborating with content creators on a sponsorship project, or establishing and marketing your own Esports Organisation.

We believe that having these learning experiences built into your education is exceptionally valuable, not only to you but to prospective employers. That’s why we are working alongside universities and our sponsors to provide higher education pathways and diverse apprenticeships within esports.

POWERED BY

At Guild, we pride ourselves on having a best-in-class esports team and operations by launching a unique, UK-based talent pipeline for esports athletes based on the traditional sports academy.

We have a holistic approach across the entertainment industry and provide exclusive opportunities to work with exciting brands across esports.

As a learner, you will be exposed to all this and more at the Sky Guild Gaming Centre, understanding what is needed to run an international esports company and giving you the skills to succeed within the industry and beyond.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

As an SCL Enigmaz learner, you will take part in coaching sessions and competitions that require certain types of hardware.

Choosing the right hardware can be complicated, so we have broken down the most important factors to look out for as you’re preparing to join us.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

A laptop would be considered a basic entry point for the programme, but we would suggest a PC over a console for the following reasons:

Almost every game played competitively is played on a PC due to better performance

The PC can double up as a workstation for education projects, consoles can’t

A higher-end PC will last upwards of 8 years before needing upgrades

Laptops will run roughly 20-30% slower than a PC and will cost more as a result

Laptops are limited when it comes to upgrades in the future

Computers are typically made up of the following main components that affect performance:

Motherboard

The motherboard is the main board that is screwed into the computer case directly. Its function is to connect all of the components so that they may communicate and work together.

Random Access Memory (RAM)

RAM is a form of data storage that allows for faster read and write operations. RAM is also volatile, which means that if the power goes out, it loses all of the data it has stored.

Central Processing Unit (CPU)

The CPU can be regarded as a computer’s brain. On a computational level, it processes all of the data. It reads data from the RAM and processes it in order for the computer to do the tasks it is programmed to do.

The price of a PC build can also be increased by the CPU, but this mostly relies on your gaming needs. You could save in the CPU area as older generation chips are still quite good for gaming, giving yourself more to put towards the graphics card.

Graphics Card (GPU)

GPU is a specialised processor that is created to accelerate graphics processing. It can render many pieces of data making them ideal for machine learning, video editing, and gaming.

The graphics card is the most expensive part of your PC and will often take up about 50% of your budget if you are searching for a mid-tier system or higher.
